The company that built the fastest supercomputer in the world in 2002, the Earth Simulator Computer (ESC), and is within top 1000 companies in the world (Forbes ranking), NEC Corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, has taken 4 SRM Institute of Science and Technology students for internships.

Braving a stringent screening and application process comprising of aptitude test, technical test, technical interview and face-to-face meetings with NEC Tech Team, M.Tech students Badrinaathan and Karthik and B.Tech students Pathik Jhaveri and Suchita Mehra, bagged the coveted assignments.

It is a fully funded internship offered by NEC. Recognising the consistent performance of the students, they will be undertaking cutting edge research in Data Science Research Laboratories of NEC’s R&D Division.

“We are excited at this 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to be at a dream location like NEC, where we will undertake research on next generation products in supply chain management”, said the students unanimously on being told of their selection.

NEC has set up a laboratory at SRM, where collaborative research and development work in next generation networks, energy management and artificial intelligence is being carried out
